Community
Community service defines the core values of the Valatie Volunteer Rescue Squad. In addition to ambulance services, our members have a history of supplemental community service which began in 1960 with first aid courses.
We continue that tradition today, providing CPR and first aid courses for such diverse audiences as laypeople and health care providers at local nursing homes. Our paramedics work with local health experts to offer continuing education on a range of subjects ranging from diabetic diagnosis and treatment to abdominal trauma care. Future plans include expanded community and in-house training from the American Heart Association and similar organizations.
